Annual General Meeting 2018 cum 26th Management Committee Election – Candidates Name List
The Federation’s 24th Management Committee was elected at the Annual General Meeting on 25 May 2014 and the key office bearers were elected on 4 June 2014. The Inauguration Ceremony was held on 6 July 2014 which was witnessed by Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister for Culture, Community and youth and Second Minister for Communications and Information. Four of our National athletes returned home on 20 November 2018 from Yangon, Myanmar where they participated in a memorable 2nd Taolu World Cup,bringing back an outstanding 1 Silver and 1 Bronze.
Yong Yi Xiang won the Silver medal in men's Nanquan; while Vera Tan Yan Ning won a Bronze medal in Women's Taijiquan. The 2nd Taolu World Cup attracted over 80 athletes from 21 countries.
SWDLDF Chairman Mr Ang Chee Yam, Vice Chairman, and our athletes’ families, friends and well-wishers were on-site to welcome them home from a memorable competition.
3rd World Taijiquan Championships
3 of our National athletes returned home on 2 October 2018 from Burgas, Bulgaria where they participated in a memorable 3rd World Taijiquan Championships. They brought back an outstanding medal haul of 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronzes.
Both Samuel Tan Wei Han & Ho Lin Ying took part in the group B category and they both won a bronze each in the 42 Movement Taiji Quan.
Chan Jun Kai took part in the group A category and won a gold medal in the Optional Taiji Quan & a silver medal in the Optional Taiji Jian.
The 3rd World Taijiquan Championships attracted over 250 athletes from 34 countries. SWDLDF President Mr Ang Mong Seng BBM, Chairman and Wushu Chairman, and our athletes’ families, friends and well-wishers were on-site to welcome them home from this memorable competition. In addition to congratulating our athletes, President also encouraged them to continue to work hard and bring glory to Singapore.
18th Asian Games, Jakarta Palembang 2018
Our athletes returned home on 22 August 2018 from Jakarta, Indonesia where they participated in a memorable 2018 Asian Game.
SWDLDF President Mr Ang Mong Seng BBM is pleased with the event, and he commended on our Athletes & Team Officials that they have performed well and kept up to the good standards.
Prior to the competition, our athlete Jowen Lim sustain an injury on his right ankle. Despite the injuries he faced, he continues to persevere and achieved a 4th position in the Gunshu event of the Men's Daoshu/Gunshu in the All-Round Finals.
The magnificent sportsmanship values displayed by Jowen Lim earned the respects of his coaches, peers and many Singaporean after it was reported by the local media.
The courage and determination to continue his event despite the situation he’s in would definitely serve as a role model and would certainly inspire all our other athletes to excel themselves in their respective competition event.
As what the president of SNOC cum speaker of parliament Tan Chuan Jin described in his Facebook page, this was definitely a gold hearted performance!
7th World Junior Wushu Championships
12 of our National Youth Team athletes returned home on 18 July 2018 from Brasilia, Brazil where they participated in a memorable 7th World Junior Wushu Championships,bringing back an outstanding 3 Golds, 6 Silvers and 5 Bronzes. SWDLDF President Mr Ang Mong Seng BBM,SWDLDF 2nd Vice Chairman Mr Ng Kee, 2nd Assistant Secretary General Mr Ng Poa Leng PBM, Wushu Chairman Mr Vincent Ng, Lion Dance Chairman Mr Huang Jiawei, and our athletes’ families, friends and well-wishers were on-hand to welcome them home from a memorable competition.
This is the first competition events won since the establishment of new management committee. The new management committee will continue to promote the various martial arts, dragon and lion dance activities in line with the objective of the Federation. More Activities and events are in the pipelines and the Federation will announce it in the near future.
The Federation also would like to express our deepest gratitude to Charge d'affaires of Singapore's Embassy in Brazil, Ms Chin Siew Fei. It was a pleasure to have delightful lunch and the hospitality of Ms Chin and key embassy staff with our team manager, coach and athletes. By attending three-day competition, Team Singapore had been provided with a lot of moral support and encouragement.
11 of our athletes returned home on 21 September 2017 from Gumi City, Korea where they participated in a memorable 9th Asian Junior Wushu Championships,bringing back an outstanding 4 Golds, 8 Silver and 2 Bronzes. SWDLDF President Mr Sitoh Yih Pin, SWDLDF Chairman Mr Tan Yew Beng BBM and SWDLDF Wushu Chairman Mr Choy Kin Ming, and our athletes’ families, friends and well-wishers were on-hand to welcome them home from a memorable competition.
29th SEA Games: A Victorious Return 23 August 2017
Our athletes returned home on 23 August 2017 from a memorable 29th SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur with an outstanding haul of 2 Golds, 1 Silver and 5 Bronzes. SWDLDF Wushu Chairman Mr Choy Kin Ming, and our athletes’ families, friends and well-wishers were on-hand to welcome them home from a fruitful SEA Games expedition.

Our athletes gathered bright and early on the morning of 18 August 20117 at Changi Airport Terminal 2 for their flight into Kuala Lumpur for the 29th SEA Games. SWDLDF Chairman, and our athletes’ families, friends and well-wishers were on-hand with messages of encouragement and support for our 12 athletes’ pursuit of sporting glory for Singapore.
