Welcome To
Singapore Wushu Dragon & Lion Dance
Federation
Singapore National Pugillistic Federation is established in 3 February 1967. The federation was later renamed as Singapore National Wushu Federation (SNWF). Over these years, SNWF has been actively developing and promoting wushu, dragon and lion dance activities. By sorting out the relevant materials, organizing various lion dance competitions, talks, wushu displays, coaching and instructor course, and sending of teams to participate in international competitions which improve in exchanges and emulations, SNWF has played a significant role in
encouraging the development of wushu, dragon and lion dance in Singapore. Before SNWF was found, the wushu fraternity in Singapore was conservative, complacent and divided, today the ethos of wushu fraternity is open, acquiring a completely new outlook, all clubs and
associations united within the big family of SNWF, working together towards same objectives.

SNWF created two Guinness world records in 2005. During the Launch of Singapore Lion on 23 January 2005 at the Jurong East Sport Complex, ten Singapore Lios together with another 318 traditional lions have set a World Record for the largest lion dance performance.
On 5 March 2005, the largest gathering of dancing dragons, with 10 dancers per dragon, took place at the Taman Jurong Community Club.
To go with the tide of new development and to have a new image, SNWF adopted the design of the logo in 2005. The design proposal comes from the famous branding designer Shi Xue Yi. The logo synthesizes body, heart, qi and essence of wushu, integrating multielements to form distinguishing features. Red representing dragon, yellow representing lion, blue representing wushu, three in one uniting as a whole venturing out into the world. The logo was formally introduced on 25 July 2005 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng.
